Formatted contents note The farm practice was conducted at 3G Gold Farm in Brgy. San Pedro Bangku Bamban Tarlac. During the farm practice, the student trainee was exposed to the actual and hands-on training in swine production and management. It also helped the student to determine the different housing facilities, machineries and equipment used in the farm. The student trainee was also given an opportunity to determine the problems encountered in the farm and seek for possible solutions that can help to improve the farm. In this training, the student applied the knowledge that he learned from classroom such as; semen collection, heat detection, semen processing, artificial insemination, assistance during farrowing, tail docking, teeth clipping, surgical castration, iron injection, feeding management, vaccinations and giving medications. At the time of training, the farm recorded good reproductive performance such as average litter size at birth is 10.63 piglets, average number of still birth is 0.63, average number of mummified is 0.0 % , average birth weight is 1.37 kg, average weaning weight is 8 03 kg, average weaning day is 28 days, weaning percentage is 97.03%, percentage mortality is 2.97 %, farrowing index is 2.50, average gestation period is 114.26 days, average post weaning estrus is 3.63 days, farrowing interval is 145.89 days, and average litter size at weaning is 10.32 piglets. After evaluating the reproductive performance, it was found out that it exceeds the standard. The author included that the management practices applied in the farm was enough for them to obtain a higher retum of investment. Comparable to other commercial farm.
