Formatted contents note | This study determined the occurrence of Africanswine fever (ASF) in Central Luzonand associated it to its temporal and spatial distribution, and herd populationaffected for 2021. The data on ASF requested from Regional Animal Disease Diagnostic Laboratory (RADDL II) was analyzed, and the percentage of occurrence was computed. Temporal and spatial distribution was determined by the number of submitted and positive samples per month (temporal)and province (spatial), respectively.Chi-Squarecorrelation analysis was used to associate the occurrence of ASF to its temporaland spatial distribution, and herd population. A total of 90 (0.45%) out of 20,182 samples tested positive for ASF. The highest incidence of positive cases was observed in October (2.8%), while the province with the highest number of positive cases was Tarlac (0.6%). Resultson the correlationbetween ASF occurrence and its temporal distribution was not significant, while correlation between ASF occurrence and its spatial distributionwas significant; further, the associationbetween ASF occurrence and the herd population was highly. |
