Formatted contents note This study analyzed data on antibiotic residues of aquatic products in Central Luzon based on its temporal and spatial occurrence from 2018 to 2020. The data analyzed was requested from the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR) III. Data on samples subjected to ELISA for the detection of antibiotics (specifically, chloramphenicol, furaltadone and furazolidone) were reviewed; samples from outside of Central Luzon were weeded out. A descriptive analysis of the 220 remaining samples using frequency table was used to describe the occurrence of antibiotic residues in terms of type of aquatic product, province of source and time (month) of submission. Results revealed that the most submitted sample was milkfish (35.09%), the highest number of submitted samples were recorded from June to October (60.68%), and most of the samples (43.51%) originated from the province of Bulacan from year 2018 to 2020. There were no residues of chloramphenicol, furaltadone and furazolidone detected in all the samples tested. Findings of this study indicate that aqua farmers in Central Luzon are compliant to regulations and standards on judicious use of antibiotics, particularly, chloramphenicol which is banned.
