Formatted contents note | The study was conducted at City Nursery, Barangay Lara, City of San Fernando, Pampanga from June 1, 2021 to August 30, 2021 to determine the influence of soybean card resaducbased probiotic on the growth performance of mallard ducklings Anas platyrhynchos. A total of 144 female mallard ducklings (10-day-old ducks with an initial weight of 86.32 g) were randomly divided into 6 experimental groups (24 in each group of 4 replicates with 6 birds per replicate) in a 3 = 2 factorial design. The main factors inchuded 3 addstives (antibiotic, commercial probiotic, and customized probiotic) added in the drinking water given in 2 doses (1 ml and 2 ml)as sub factor. The results showed that the group givea customized probiotics performed comparatively with other groups. No statistical difference was noted between and within factors in terms of gain in weight, final weight, ADG, PCR, carcass weight and dressing percentage, Groups given customized probiotics recorded the lowest feed consumption which wag significantly different from those of the other groups. Cost of production was significantly lower in the group given customuzed protwoncs. Similarly, this group showed highly significant difference on net return. Absence of intestinal and gizzard lesions wee noted in all experimental birds subjected to the lesion sconng, in addition, no antibiaic residue was detected in the ducks that were given antibiotics. |
