Formatted contents note The aim of this study was to determine the adverse effect of bisphenol S, an endocrine-disrupting chemical found in BPA-free plastic products, to the reproductive physiology and histopathology of male Sprague-Dawley rats. Twenty-eight male rats of Sprague-Dawley strain were used in the experiment. BPS-treated group male rats were given BPS at doses of 60mg/kg BW/day and 120mg/kg BW/day respectively, for 35 days. After the 28*® day, three male rats were randomly selected from the group to be mixed with female rats with the ratio of 1:3 (one male and three females) for seven days. On Week 6, the male rats were sacrificed. Results showed that the testosterone level, sperm morphology, sperm count, sperm motility and sperm viability were significantly affected in a dose dependent manner in all exposed groups of rats compared to the control. Moreover, findings revealed that BPS has varying impact tissue degeneration of testis, epididymis, prostate glands, liver, kidney and heart. In conclusion, BPS possibly impairs the reproductive physiology and promotes tissue degeneration of rats.
