Formatted contents note This study aimed to -investigate if the emotional intelligence could affect the communication skills of the junior high school students of Pampanga State Agricultural University. Specifically, it sought to determine the profile of the respondents in terms of sex and the performance of the respondents in their communication skills and emotional intelligence, and identify the relationship between their communication skills and emotional intelligence. Descriptive-inferential method was used in this study. Percentage and frequency counts were utilized to get the percentage of the profile of the respondents. Pearson-r and t-test samples were the statistical treatment applied to determine the relationship among the sex, communication skills and emotional intelligence of the respondents. The study used the assessment tools adopted from LINAC for emotional intelligence and HTC.com for communication skills. These tools were validated by psychologists. The conclusions of this study are as follows: The female respondents outnumber the male respondents; the performance of both male and female respondents in their communication skills is rated expressive; female respondents have a higher mean score than the male respondents in the assessment of their emotional intelligence; there is no significant difference between the male and female respondents' communication skills; there is a significant difference in the pretest and posttest on communication skills of the respondents
