Formatted contents note This study aimed to evaluate the acceptability of instructional video in teaching salakban dance. Salakban dance is a Kapampangan occupational folk dance that mimics the movements of entrapping a mudfish. The researcher utilized a descriptive approach of research. It was carried out in a two-fold manner: designing the instructional tool and evaluation of the material based on the respondents' comments and suggestions through questionnaire to determine the level of its acceptability. The results of the Focus Group Discussion (FGD) and reading the dance literature were the bases in designing the instructional video with the part-whole method of instruction. Also, an IT expert was consulted on the multimedia aspect of the video such as audio, photos, music, subtitles, slow motions and subtitles. The Learning Resources Management Division System (LRMDS) assessment and evaluation standard tool for a non-print material from the Department of Education was used to evaluate the designed instructional video in teaching salakban dance. The experts evaluated the said tool in terms of content quality, instructional quality and technical quality. There were 18 respondents from the field of education who evaluated and re-evaluated the instructional material in terms of content and instructional quality. For the technical quality, two I.T. experts evaluated the said material. All evaluators rated the instructional video as acceptable to be used in teaching salakban dance. The experts recommended the instructional video to be used as an instrument in teaching salakban dance for physical education classes. Keywords: - salakban, evaluation of instructional video.
