Formatted contents note The farm practice in swine production was conducted at Buenavista Farm in Sta Maria, Bulacan from April 16 to May 20, 2018. The farm practice gave an experience and opportunity to learn how to do daily activities and hands-on management practices in swine production. In addition, the mentioned experience gave knowledge on managing a farm that the trainee can apply in his future work. During the farm practice, the student trainee improved his skills and widened his knowledge in an actual field of operation. Throughout the journey, the student-trainee gained the skills and knowledge in artificial insemination, ear notching, tail docking, castration, feeding and taking care of the sows, and giving medications and vitamins for the animals. Bio security and vaccination program is indeed important in the farm. Farm reproductive parameters were evident in dealing with various situations, as well as gaining insights and experiences on the things needed to improve and worked on. The sizes of pens and the number of facilities were important in farm productions which were applied sufficiently in the farm. However, there were some problems encountered during the farm practice such as the following: 1. Lack of farm workers; 2. Mishandling of weanlings feeders; and 3. Low salary of farm workers.
