500 ## - GENERAL NOTE
General note This study involved the pathomorphological analysis of the most common canine skil tumours under the Philippine setting. Macroscopic and histological analyses of skin biopsies were performed on 56 canines. The biopsy samples were gathered from the laboratory clinics within Luzon and were sent to Advance Diagnostic Veterinary Laboratory (ADVL), Taguig City. Statistical analysis was performed using statistical program "Microsoft Office Excel 2010". The incidence of tumours in relation to the age and sex of the animals; anatomical location and number of tumours were determined. Results of the study showed that skin tumours occured in all age groups of dogs except for >14 years age group. The mean age of dogs affected by skin tumours was 7.17 years with the possible deviation +2.19 years. The highest incidence of skin tumours (23.2%) was determined in the 8-10 years age group, mode 10 years and median 7.5 years. Skin tumours in males accounted for 55% and 45% in females; the tumours were located in the limb area (23.2%), in the head area (16.1%); in the neck (14.3%), and in the abdominal area (12.5%).
