General note This study used a descriptive correlational design to assess the awareness, preparedness and readiness of students, parents and community stakeholders on disaster risk reduction. The respondents answered a questionnaire in February 2020. Findings revealed that the levels of awareness, preparedness and readiness of the students and parents towards disaster risk reduction were moderate. On the other hand, the levels of readiness of parents and levels of awareness, preparedness and readiness of the community stakeholders toward disaster risk reduction were extreme. It was noted that the school and the media were the main sources of information from which the respondents learned about disaster risk reduction and had great roles in disseminating information. Also, there was a high level of correlation among the levels of awareness, preparedness and readiness of the respondents towards disaster risk reduction. The findings further revealed that there were some areas that need improvement. These were the awareness on the emergency numbers, preparedness on emergency bags and first aid kits, and readiness to treat injuries and do first aid properly. A development program on Disaster Risk Reduction was proposed to improve the level of awareness, preparedness and readiness of the respondents towards Disaster Risk Reduction and to prepare them to the different natural disasters such as earthquakes, typhoon, flooding and pandemics like the Coronavirus disease or COVID-19.
