General note In general, the study aimed to assess the land use of Magalang, Pampanga. The government along with the participation of its citizens must find efficient ways of allocating their land utilization in such a way that maximizes sustainable production while satisfying the diverse societal needs and safeguarding the environment. The study was conducted at the municipality of Magalang. The study took into account the plans and policies for the land use of the Philippines, as the national level component, and the Magalang, Pampanga, for the local level component. The nature of this research was qualitative in nature. The study used both primary and secondary data. Primary data were obtained through key informant interviews, storytelling and testimonials. The study used purposive sampling techniques for the selection of the respondents of the study. There was a total of three respondents. Availability at the time of data collection and engagement with the formulation and implementation of the Magalang CLUP were two criteria considered in recruiting research participants. They are as follows: Mr. Joey G. Ocampo, Head Coordinator of the Municipal Planning and Development Office; Mr. Jesus Nathaniel C. Pili, Zoning Administrator/Municipal Engineering; and Mrs. Milagros G. Suing, Municipal Agriculturist. The Municipal Planning and Development Office (MPDO) is the secretariat of the Municipal Development Council and the main department responsible for the formulation and implementation of the Comprehensive Land Use Plan (CLUP) of the Municipality of Magalang. The Office of the Municipal Engineer and Office of the Municipal Agriculturist are the departments that provides statistical data for the MPDO and implement the CLUP. Thematic analysis was employed by organizing, analyzing, and presenting the data collected in order to meet the objectives of the study. The research shows the different land resources of the municipality as well as the plans and policies of the local government in an attempt to satisfy the needs of the town as well as safeguarding its environment and heritage. The study also shows the incirporation of national and provincial policies and the linkages with other agencies that the Local Government Units (LGUs) incorporate in their plans for the future land use plan of the municipality. In addition, the study shows the local government's plans to accommodate incoming economics activities in relation to land use.
