500 ## - GENERAL NOTE
General note The study was conducted to evaluate the management practices of Ducor Farm located at Mitla Proper, Porac, Pampanga. Specifically, it sought to trace the historical background and management activities of the farm in terms of organization, investment, production, marketing and financial aspects; to identify and analyze the problem encountered to give possible solution and offer recommendations to the existing problems. Primary data were gathered through a series of interviews with the manager of the farm. The data gathered came from the areas of organization, investment, production, marketing and finance. The farm studied is a business registered under the name of Ducor Farm. It is owned by Romel Duya and it has 10 workers wherein Mr. Ricardo David is the farm manager. The problem encountered in the organization was the workers' attitude towards work. Some workers of the farm are irresponsible or are negligent of their duties and responsibilities and they also do not communicate properly with the heads regarding their work. With this, the researcher recommends that the owner or the manager must select and hire workers that suit well the position in the farm, and he must consider also their moral character, aside from their skills and knowledge. And the problem encountered in production was swine diseases. Certain environment factors can help transmit and increase the severity of the swine respiratory disease complex. These factors that contribute to SRD include overcrowding, frequent mixing of pigs, high humidity, dust, high ammonia levels and temperature fluctuation. Working to minimize these factors can help improve the pig's health. With this, the researcher recommends to avoid this case, researcher suggests hiring a professional or an expert in handling any kind of diseases in swine industry.
