500 ## - GENERAL NOTE
General note The concept of land use is closely intertwined with the human community development. Patterns of human development and land use have shaped the environment locally and globally since pre-historic times. Current development patterns, together with features of the natural environment and the consequences of past development activities, determine future development of environmental resources. The Geographic Information System (GIS) Base Land Use Management is coined to guide the proper utilization of the University's land resources. The system provides a spatial framework for the overall development of the university. The researcher evaluated the Pampanga State Agricultural University Land Use Management using the six (6) Planning Principles criteria specifically, Sense of Place, Inclusive and Accessible, Environmental Sustainability, Circulation and Flexibility. The respondents of this study are the authorities involved in the Land Management Planning including the University President, Planning Director, General and Auxiliary Services Director, as well as selected faculty and students of each College, who are the end users of the land management. Based on the result, the highest score falls under the criteria of Environmental Sustainability, it shows that the university is environment sensitive community, and the lowest score falls out under the criteria Inclusive and Accessible which means the university needs more improvement towards the safety and accessibility inside the school. The researcher came up with a proposed Land Use Map of PSAU with 4 major classifications including the Science and Technology Area, Commercial Area, Academic and Academic Support Area, and the Agroforestry and Pasture Area. The researcher also identified all corresponding sub-classifications in each zone and integrated them in the map.
