ABSTRACT TITLE PRODUCTION AND MARKETING OF CARABAO MANGO IN ARAYAT, PAMPANGA AUTHOR C-JAY PEREZ GONZALES ADVISER PROF. AL R. MUÑOZ PAMPANGA STATE AGRICULTURAL UNIVERSITY SCHOOL DEGREE BACHELOR OF SCIENCE IN AGRICULTURAL ECONOMICS YEAR COMPLETED : JUNE 2023 This study analyzed the production and marketing of carabao mango in Arayat, Pampanga. A total of 30 farmers and 20 traders were identified as respondents.. The cultural management practices show most of the farmers had 31 to 40 carabao mango trees with the harvesting of carabao mango ranging from 500kg to 1,000kg. The buyer dictates price determination of the producer's majority of the price, and farmers selling price per kilogram range from 70 to 75 pesos. In terms of marketing practices, majority of the farmers indicated that their only distribution methods were wholesalers. The traders harvested 500kg to 1,000kg and 1001kg to 1,500kg; method of transferring the carabao mangoes for 60% of the traders stated that their carabao mango was being transported from their respective farms; the traders indicated that price dictated to the buyer, and the price of carabao mango per kilogram is ranging from Phpl50 to Phpl55 pesos. Cost and return were used to analyze the data of the farmners and traders. The annual sales total Php154,884.72 over its entire harvesting period.The expenses total is Php 78,223.00 which covers the cost of seedlings, fertilizer, gasoline, pesticides, insecticides, and harvesting cost. Farmers realized a net income of Php76,661.72, while the trader's product's annual sales amounted to Php551,315.00. The expenses total price is Php 262,650.00 which comprised of the cost of petroleum and labor. The trader's net gain was Php288,665.00. The problems encountered by the farmers were pests and diseases, weather conditions, lack of support from the government, high inputs, and farm-to-market roads. Problems for the traders are unstable prices, competitors, farm-to-market routes, and marketing aspects. The possible solutions for farmers are proper spraying of pesticides and insecticides, climate change adaption, financial support from the government, proper price monitoring, and road repairs; while for the traders are accurate price monitoring, road repairsmarketing training and seminars. Policymakers should design a policy that raises awareness and understanding of carabao mango production and marketing practices.
