ABSTRACT ACOSTA, RAYMONDB, May 2020, HANDS-ON ACTIVIES IN TERMS OF SWINE PRODUCTION AND PROPER MANAGEMENT PRACTICE IN A FARM, belor of Science in Agricalture major in Animal Science, Pampanga State Agricultural University. PAC, Magalang. Pampanga ADVISER: RICARDO D. HERNANDEZ A farm practice was conduct at Anupul Farm in Sitio Pandan, Barangay Anupul, Bamban, Tarlac from June 19, 2019 to July 23, 2019. Farm practice is very useful to the students, because it trains student with managing practice and apply her knowledge in the farm. During the period of farm practice, the trainee had the opportunity to experience the actual activities/ practices. During the farm practice the student applied the theoretical knowledge he learned inside the school. The student applied the managing practice and how to operate. The trainee was able to acquired skills and gained knowledge in the production system and management practices such as pre-farrowing preparations, assistance during farrowing, care and management of newly- bom piglets, cutting the needle teeth, tail docking, prevention of anemia, castration, weaning, cleaning and bathing, manure disposal, marketing and record keeping. It also included feeds and feeding of the animals, breeds and breeding method and system in the farm, semen collection, artificial insemination process and natural breeding. Doing this activity continually made the trainee mastered the management practices. This training will give the student experience in working that he can use in the near future.
