TOTAAN This study aimed to determine the total phenolic and flavonoid contents, anti-angiogenic and anticlastogenic activities of Ziziphus talanai(Blanco) Merrill ethanolic leaf extract. The 200 mg/L concentration of Z. talanai had the highest total phenolic and flavonoid contents, with 0.60 mg GAE/mL and 0.13 mg QE/mL, respectively. Chorioallantoic Membrane Assay showed that there is angiogenesis inhibition potential of the different concentrations of the ethanolic leaf extract of 2. talanai. Micronucleus Test revealed that the different concentrations of ethanolic leaf extract of Z. talanai are non-genotoxic and caused a significant change in the clastogenic effects of tetracycline and monosodium glutamate (MSG) when co-administered with the different concentrations of ethanolic leaf extract of Z. talanai on white mice; hence, anti-clastogenic. The results of the study may contribute to the quest for drug discovery using endemic plants in the Philippines. Through this study, the importance of plant biodiversity in Mount Arayat will also be highlighted as a result of dependence on them for medicinal purposes.
