The study aimed to profile animal rabies cases in Pampanga from 2015 to 2016. Data were obtained from the Regional Animal Disease Diagnostic Laboratory III (RADDL-III), City of San Fernando, Pampanga. A total of one hundred sixty-three samples with variables such as month, species, age group, municipalities, residency, vaccination and rabies test were subjected to frequency distribution. The accuracy of Direct Microscopic Examination (DME) as diagnostic tect for rabies was also determined. Descriptive analysis revealed that animal rabies were highest in February and March with 22 and 19 cases, respectively.Dogs had higher rabies positive cases (99%) as compared to cats (1%). Dogs in one-year old age group had the highest rabies occurrence (57.7%) and positive cases were mostly male dogs (55.2%). Furthermore, data showed that rabies incidence was recorded highest in the municipality of Lubao with 25 positive cases, followed by the cities of Angeles and San Fernando with 24 and 16 positive cases, respectively. In terms of animal's residency, 84% of positive cases were household pets. Fifty percent of positive rabies cases were observed on animals with unknown vaccination history while 40% were unvaccinated. Thirty samples identified as negative by DME tested positive to fluorescent antibody test (FAT), DME had an accuracy of 79%; it determined 129 positive cases out of 163 samples.
