The research aimed to develop a system that would help the faculty member in logging-in and out for their attendance in a fast and reliable way. Also, to lessen the time in searching the names of the faculty member; to help the teachers and students to know if the faculty member is inside or outside the faculty room. The project also aimed to avoid the faculty room in getting crowded whenever some students were looking for a faculty member. The system uses Visual Basic and Xampp MYSQL App that can detect and identify the names of the faculty members through the fingerprint scanner. The biometric was the first security system that automatically detect whether the user is registered or not. It can also detect if the user is a faculty member of the Department of Computer Studies and Automation. The researchers gathered and collected the data from internet and library research, observation and post evaluation survey. Based on the result of post evaluation and IT expert evaluation questionnaires, the system is said to be effective and reliable. In addition, the result of post evaluation survey conducted by the researchers, the proposed system was convenient and helpful compare to the manual checking of attendance when it comes to signing of attendance. Also, the faculty members strongly agreed on the proposed system. Through the study, the problems of the Department of Computer Studies and Automation on checking and signing of attendance were solved. The researchers found out that the system was a great help to the faculty members in signing the attendance and giving information about the whereabouts of a member of the faculty. In addition, it could also help the students, through the monitor provided in front of the faculty office. The monitor will let the students know if the teacher is in or out of the faculty room. The system saves the time of a student when searching or looking for a faculty member.
