ABSTRACT TITLE MANAGEMENT PRACTICES OF MIYABE-YABE : AUTHOR ADVISER SCHOOL DEGREE (LACMIT) MULTI-PURPOSE COOPERATIVE : RONALD S. ORLINA : ABNER C. QUIAMBAO, M.P.S. : PAMPANGA STATE AGRICULTURAL UNIVERSITY BACHELOR OF SCIENCE IN AGRICULTURAL BUSINESS YEAR COMPLETED : JUNE 2023 The study was conducted to evaluate the management practices of Miyabe-yabe (Lacmit) Multi-purpose Cooperative, located at Lacmit, Arayat, Pampanga. Generally, it sought to trace the historical background of the cooperative and management activities in terms of organization, investment, operation, marketing and financial aspects; identify and analyze the problems encountered; give possible solutions and offer some recommendations to the existing problems. Primary data were gathered through a series of personal interviews with the secretary who provided the information needed. The firm is cooperative type of business headed by Mr. Aquino N. Gozun. Financial statements and ratios were done to determine the financial standing of the cooperative. The result of the analysis showed that the fim lacks revolving capital. Identification and problem analysis were done regarding the organization, operation and financial aspects of the cooperative. The problems encountered by the cooperative include: in the organization, (1) it lacks regular employees, especially a general manager and a bookkeeper, (2) some officers of the committee do not have enough knowledge of their position; in operation, (3) shortage of farm machineries, (4) minimal business activities, (5) wrong location of the mechanical drier; and in financial terms, (6) insufficient revolving capital. Alternative courses of action were formulated for the existing problems and recommendations were forwarded. Based on the evaluation, the following are recommended to improve their business operation: (1) hire a regular employee that has enough knowledge for the position; (2) the officers of the committee should attend seminars and trainings on cooperative to learn about their positions; (3) alternative B, for the cooperative to seek assistance to government agencies to purchase or grant farm machineries; (4) alternative A, for the cooperative to explore other business activities to maximize profit; (5) alternative B, for the cooperative to find a member who has extra land and agree to house the mechanical drier so that it can be used; and (6) alternative A, for the c0operative to borrow from Landbank of the Philippines and utilize it to increase the income of the cooperative.
