THE ANALGESIC PROPERTY OF NANOZEOLITE-INFUSEDTAMARIND (Tamarindus indica, LL) AQUEOUS LEAF RTRAC Pampanga State Agricultural University, BACHELOR OF SCIENCE IN BIOLOGY MAJOR IN MOLECULAR BIOLOGY AND BIOTECHNOLOGY. Adviser: Sancho A. Gareia, Jr., M.A.N Paracetamnol is a common medication that can help reduce a high temperature and case pain. In addition to reducing fevers brought on by illnesses like the flu and the common cold, it is frequently used to relieve mild to moderate discomfort. The study generally determined the analgesic property of nanozeolite-infused tamarind (Tamarindus indica, L) aqueous leaf extract. Specifically, it sought to answer the following questions: Is there a significant difference in the number of writhes performed by mice as affected by dilerent reatments of Tamarindus indica aqueous leaf extract? And which among the diterent concentrations is the most effective as an analgesic as measured by percent eflectivity? The analgesic activity was examined by utilizing Acetie acid writhing assay in mice. Acetic acid was injected intraperitoneal and served as an irritant on mice by the researcher. A total of21 mice were used as experimental animals. During ten minutes, mice stretching was counted while bcing observed simultaneously. The results of the experiment showed that Tamarindus indica has shown a significant difference (p<0.05) between T- (Acetic Acid) and T+ (Paracetamol), unlike other treatments, hence they are comparable with each other to relieve pain. TI (Pure Tamarind Extract) obtained 39.67, next to T+ (Paracetamol) with only 30. These results demonstrated that the Tamarindus indica exhibited significant analgesic properties. It is recommended to conduct a microbial analysis on Tamarind extract to examine if there is the presence of pathogenic microorgarnisms to be able to evaluate their health risk, further study of analgesics using another specimen of plant, and further study as regarding the dosage of Nanozeolite-infused Tamarind leave extract.
