This study employed a qualitative-descriptive research design and digital mapping for the assessment of informal settlers in Meycauayan City. Out of 2,417 informal settler families (ISF's), 343 households were selected to be the respondents of the study. To assess the status of the informal settlers, a ground level survey was administered through the distribution of survey questionnaires. The demographic profile, socioeconomic status, access to the basic needs, duration and reasons of settlement, grants received from the government, and future demands of the respondents were gathered and evaluated. Moreover, the data of area of informal settlements, household density, population density, and their classifications were gathered and mapped out using Geographic Information System (GIS) software.
